Abstract

PUCCI, Renata Helena Pin; SILVA, Joyce Amador da  and  ANTUNES-SOUZA, Thiago. Study on the characteristics of teachers’ Continuing Education aligned to the National Common Curricular Base. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2023, vol.28, e237462.  Epub Dec 06, 2023. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v28e2023a7462.

Implementing the Common National Curricular Base has led to formulation of various teachers’ education policies with a view to establishing an equally common Base for Teacher Education. Thus, this study aims to investigate the characteristics of Continuing Education in implementing the Common National Curricular Base, as manifested in official documents. For this purpose, it was developed: (1) the survey of official documents related to Continuing Education; (2) the literature review on Continuing Education; (3) the analysis of official documents in dialogue with the literature surveyed. The theoretical perspective that supports the text discusses the conceptions and the rationality that make up these educational policies regarding the formation and performance of teachers, beyond what the documents let appear. The analyses allow us to characterize the current proposal of continuing education as standardizing, in alignment with neoliberal policies, and that tends to value the accountability and the instrumentation of the teacher. We conclude that these policies are far from collective practices, limiting autonomy and having in the teachers the perspective of a task- and goal-fulfiller and contributing to consummate a standardized and reductionist educational project.
