This article presents an excerpt from a study aimed at developing tasks based on the Davydovian way of organizing teaching. Such tasks aim to promote the search for the universal relationship of the statistical concept of average, diverging from the traditional methods found in the literature. The delimitation occurred for two particular tasks from a set of tasks developed in research within the scope of a master’s in education program. These tasks are based on the Activity Theory and on Davýdov’s studies, organized for teaching the concept of average, at a higher level, using the Digital Blackboard. From the analyzes carried out, it appears that the concept of average materializes from the determination of equality between magnitudes, which is its fundamental relationship.
