Abstract

PEDRINI, Mirian Roberta  and  NONO, Maévi Anabel. The conceptions of teachers of associated daycare centers in a municipality in northwestern São Paulo. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2024, vol.29, e248710.  Epub Sep 30, 2024. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v29a2024e248710.

Early Childhood Education, the first stage of Basic Education, has, in its history, characteristics that can influence the way society in general and teachers in particular perceive its relevance and its place in comprehensive education of children. It is observed that the history of this stage of Basic Education is recent in the country and that new studies and research are being carried out in this period focused on Early Childhood. Part of these studies refer to daycare center teachers and how this teaching is constituted. In this regard, this article, arising from a broader quantitative and qualitative research, aims to present the conceptions about babies and very young children, the role of daycare centers and teaching in daycare centers of teachers from affiliated daycare centers in a city in northwestern São Paulo, raised through a questionnaire with open- and closed-ended questions. The research highlights the potentialities and weaknesses of this teaching and aims to contribute to the structuring of public policies aimed at affiliated daycare centers.
