This article presents the results of a qualitative research that aimed to analyze the teaching internship as a space for the pedagogical training of teachers for higher education from the perspective of coordinators and members of stricto sensu postgraduate programs linked to the area of Science. Biological and Health of Federal University of Viçosa. Considering the use of semi-structured interviews, with the participation of coordinators and members of the postgraduate program committees, data analysis identified an appreciation of the teaching internship as a moment of training for teaching and professional development. With regard to analyzes and discussions on aspects related to the internship, according to the participants, in most cases, there is a non-existent practice in collegiate meetings and in other areas of the postgraduate programs considered in this study. Regarding the role of the teaching internship as a space for pedagogical training for higher education, the coordinators and members of stricto sensu postgraduate programs participants demonstrated that they value this stage and consider it important in the process of teaching professional development. It is worth highlighting that the results presented reflect a particular reality with its culture and specificities, including with regard to possible epistemological influences present in the area of Biological Sciences.
