NEUENFELDT, Derli Juliano; HORST, Jovana Luísa; FELL, Willian Cauã y FORNECK, Kári Lúcia. School physical education and the language domain: a review study. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2024, vol.29, e2412211. Epub 12-Nov-2024. ISSN 2318-0870. https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v29a2024e12211.
This article aimed to investigate the integration of Physical Education into the Language domain through an analysis of the scientific production related to the topic. It is a literature review, in which 14 articles selected from the Portal Periódicos Capes and Google Scholar databases were analyzed, originating from bibliographic/documentary research or from the school reality. Through Textual Discursive Analysis, three categories emerged: BNCC and Physical Education in the language domain: between advances and setbacks; the search for assumptions to support Physical Education as a language, and Physical Education in the language domain: school pedagogical practices and teachers’ reports. We found the need to reassess the role of Physical Education in the Language domain, recognizing its ability to enrich education with historical, cultural, and critical perspectives in the construction of citizenship and social awareness. Regarding the theoretical assumptions for understanding Physical Education as a language, we can highlight the search for support in semiotics, Bakhtin, Gadamer’s hermeneutics and Mauro Betti from the field of Physical Education. Despite these efforts, research in the school context indicates difficulties in implementing Physical Education in this new curricular space, due to the prioritization of other components considered suitable for employment logic. Therefore, there is a need for a critical and interdisciplinary approach, in which language theories and understanding of body movement culture intertwine, transcending the understanding of the body beyond biological limits and extending to expressiveness and various cultural manifestations.
