TOGNETTA, Luciene Regina Paulino y TESSARO, Mônica. Initiatives for Promoting School Coexistence Carried Out by Brazilian State Departments of Education After the Wave of Attacks (2022-2023). Educ. Puc. [online]. 2025, vol.30, e14543. ISSN 2318-0870. https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v30a2025e14543.
The objective of this article is to analyze the actions created and published by the 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District aimed at promoting coexistence among Basic Education students as a response to the attacks suffered in Brazilian schools since 2022. This is a qualitative, documentary, and analytical study. Using Bardin’s analytical framework, the actions were categorized and interpreted into primary and secondary categories. The primary categories refer to the analysis of laws, while the secondary categories were organized based on the actions implemented and published by the State Departments of Education. The results show that intervention actions involving police forces occur more frequently in the states of the South and North regions of the country; training actions are more common in the Southeast and Northeast regions; informative actions are more prevalent in the states of the Central-West region; and punitive, control, and surveillance actions are present in all regions, especially in the Southeast and South states. It is concluded that the actions to address violence are predominantly punitive and control-based, school interventions involve police presence, and there is little involvement of the community and the protection network (multiprofessional centers) in promoting coexistence in schools.
