Abstract: This study fits in the relationship between school and family comprised in the nature science subject of the 3rd cycle of basic school. For the activities, some computational resources are used. Following the methodology created by Joyce Epstein, “Teachers Involve Parents in Schoolwork” (TIPS), we have created and experimented activities involving parents in the Sciences homework tasks. Some of these activities have also involved the use of the Internet by the students and their relatives. We tried to perceive and understand in which way can parents’ cooperation in their children’s learning bring or not bring students motivation to success. The working out of the TIPs in the Sciences using the web, that we named TIPS - UW, had the aim of determining the possible efficiency of this methodology in students who master the new technologies. To evaluate the study of the impact of these activities involving parents and students, we used a method mainly qualitative based in the interview technique. The TIPs created have come out quite interesting, feasible and of great potential for the teaching of Sciences. On the other hand, they seem to promote the parentschildren affective relationships and the involving of family in school. Results have also shown that the unit explored in this investigation content, the respiratory system, can benefit from teaching strategies based in parents’ attendance and in digital resources (TIPS-UW). The undertaken work has given us courage to continue and to recommend the educational community the use of strategies, aiming at an approach of families to the school reality, to the promotion of education in general and especially of the learning of Sciences.
