This text had its origin from the research that has as object the Course of Teacher training in distance mode of the Rio de Janeiro State University. We look at an important aspect: the interaction, highlighted in the political-pedagogic project of the course. We analyzed the responses of three hundred and thirty students from the instrument of institutional evaluation in 2007. We build, through this analysis, a concept of interaction in cyberspace, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. We also discussed ideas for continuing education, knowledge society and the sense that the information and communication technologies have for the social context, from a historical and social development view. We found six different meanings attributed to the interaction: as a means of communication and socialization, as cooperation or collaboration, as a resource to optimize the learning, as antagonism, conflict and hegemony resulting from competition. These reflections on the construction of the concept of another through the interaction are necessary to define the paradigm of human training which provides the basis for such courses.
