This article summarizes a research study that aimed to evaluate the blearning methodology adopted in the Master in Multimedia in Education (2007/2009 edition) from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, which was the subject of a master dissertation (Silva, 2009). This research relied on two research tools for data gathering: discussion records from the forums and blogs of the central subjects, whose content analysis identified potential aspects of b-learning methodology requiring special attention; questionnaires to collect more precise data on the students and teachers´ perceptions on a wide range of relevant indicators. The results of this research, whose main objective is to contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning in higher education using b-learning methodology, in particular, at the University of Aveiro, showed that the methodology was well adapted to the characteristics and expectations of participants (mostly teachers from different levels of education). However, some topics of concern were also identified: the need for continuous improvement of the services provided by the technological platform support; the advantage in controlling the pace of the learning communities events; and the adoption of strategies that limit the students´ informational overload.
