Abstract

Project "Inovar com QI" did result from a partnership between Penalva and Azurara Teachers' Training Centre (CFPA) and Areal Publishers, responsible for Magicboard - Interactive White Boards distribution in Portugal. Project was about training and promoting Interactive White boards pedagogical uses in 52 teachers ' classrooms, from pre-school education to Secondary level. Teachers belong to five CFPA associated schools (currently Teachers' Training Centre - EduFor). Project started in 2006 and lasts until July, 2009. The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) is an inescapable reality in all daily life aspects, so its usefulness as educational vehicle to promote learning process is naturalized and emphasized by the importance that European Commission and a large majority of European countries give the subject. Today, question is no longer to discuss whether or not this technology is necessary for learning, but to discuss ways of promoting its use effectively, especially in pedagogical practices reconfiguration. Thus, this paper aims to present “Inovar com QI” project major axis and educational decisions as well it intends to summarize project main results concerned with teachers’ practices changes and teachers’ tasks which could be associated with interactive white boards introduction into classrooms.
