Resumo

The present article reports an empirically based exploratory study on the use of radio and internet as tools to support the development of adolescents with difficulties in oral expression, students from municipal schools of Joinville, Santa Catarina. Its final goal is to lead to reflection on the contributions of these two technologies used as cultural tools for the development of oral language of elementary school students. The proposed discussion is based on thematic concepts from the processes underlying the construction of knowledge, the education communication, the cooperative experience at building web radio, the development of thought and language during the interaction process to the analysis of orality from categories related with the students’ verbal fluency. The research shows that the integration of media - radio and internet - has the potential to contribute to the development of orality as a cultural tool, activating and improving students’ oral comphrension and product concerning the speech.
