Nowadays, population ageing is an unquestionable truth. It is known that a long life may not represent a good life. So, in order that the demographic changes make sense, it is necessary that the elderly have quality of life. Another issue that has been confirmed is the development of the Information and Communication Technologies. An age group that has been put aside of this fact is the elderly, since there's that stereotype that the Internet is just considered for young people. Therefore, this research tried to work with these two realities by promoting the development of communication skills using the tools available online to a group of people in retirement age. In order to achieve this purpose it was taught a computer course to a group of 14 old people. The research methodology used was the investigation-action. The data were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. This research showed that the Internet usedecreases loneliness, increases the access to information, as well as the frequency of communication between family members and friends, and therefore, brings quality of life to the elderly.
