This article reflects on a Community of Practice in education in an institutional setting - a public school system. Analyzes the implementation of the collaborative learning community named Professor 2.0 in the Education Department of the State of São Paulo - Brazil. It discusses the contributions of communities of practice to the educational context, establishing relationships between planning, reflection on pedagogical practices, sharing with peers and re-signification of teachers' practice. The research points out the potential of the community for the expansion and re-signification of the pedagogical practice in its daily life, developing a learning community and emphasizing voluntary adhesion and mediation of the community as central elements for its constitution.
