The presence of a deaf student in a classroom with listener children in a public school in the state of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil has been caused a reaction in a group of literacy teachers of investing in a pedagogical way that changes the difference - what consists for us - into a pedagogical advantage. The wide announced equality - in modules of learning and teaching, in modules of dealing with kids, in evaluation routines, etc - Comes dialoging with the real heterogeneous classroom world, showing the possibility of learning, which is not easy at all, of understand the pluralism and the monism as parts of the teaching-learning process. In this process some points must be discussed such as: How thinking of a school that really recognizes the students’ linguistics and cultural differences? How to politically recognize the deafness? Is it possible to understand and deal with the difference, at school, in a way of not use pedagogical actions that don’t consist in naming and control of the other/the different? Or the similarities at school block the “difference”? This text socialize and discuss the limits and the possibilities of a research action that wishes, along with the teachers, invest in a construction of a school résumé that don’t be seen by the failure and exclusion of a significant number of students of lower classes.
