Abstract

AZENHA, Conceição Aparecida Costa. De um corpo aos pedaços a um sujeito: o que Gepeto sempre pode ensinar sobre isso a quem educa?. ETD [online]. 2007, vol.08, suppl., pp.333-348. ISSN 1676-2592.

In its connections with education, psychoanalysis allows one to question the role of education in  subjects’ lives. The objective of this article is to discuss education and childhood, based on classical texts such as those by Schreber and Itard, as well as on two literary works, namely, Pinocchio and Frankenstein. These texts were not chosen at random, but rather because of an element they have in common, namely, childhood and its various conceptions. These texts also carry with them implications as to the very meaning of the act of educating. Education is a fact that rarely happens when the difference between adults and children is denied in the name of science. Education can indeed take place when it operates according to the ethic of desire. This article is committed to assert that becoming a subject is a tributary of an education.

Keywords : Education; Childhood; Psychoanalysis; Ethic.
