The great universe of reading has caught the attention of many scholars. This paper concentrates on the focus given by Cultural History to reading. The goal is to carry out research on the reader and his/her practices towards the written text. The research is centered on the tension, which operates between the text and the reader, aiming to arrive at how the reader functions in relation to the text. During this trajectory, each detail is important in the analysis of the written production of a judge/reader, in order to understand his/her practices toward the written text and his/hers representations of the reader and the act of reading itself.
