Considering that the whole on-line education is experienced through the intermediation of a digital interface, one can infer that the pedagogical mediation is an important factor for the success of an on-line educational experience. The challenge resides when this principle is confronted by large-scale educational projects. The mass education characteristics collide, or might even threat, educational projects that envision the pedagogical mediation as the basic pedagogical principle of a learning experience. Considering that, this study attempted to examine if the success of an on-line educational experience was, in fact, related to the differences between the levels of pedagogical mediated interactions conducted by on-line teachers. To examine this question, data was collected from the results of on-line courses, which objective was to advise students on the development of their final certification defense project. The parameters used to measure the results on the course were related to: the situation and results of the advising process (recommended or not) and the level of interaction established between the advisors and their advisees. Based on those factors, a statistical test Chi Square was conducted, revealing that the pedagogical mediated interaction is statically significant to achieve success on an on-line educational experience.
