This article aims at describing the Universidade Federal de Rondônia - UNIR with the TelEduc AVA environment, highlighting its history, and the acceptance by students and teachers from various disciplines and courses of IFES, and discuss matters of more technical Platform TelEduc that introduced us during the years when the environment was adopted as a teaching resource on teaching and technology since the university classroom. Our experience with this environment comes from 2004 and, due to technical problems, only return to work at our university in 2008, now as part of a project of the Laboratory Textbook Pedagogical Multimedia - Labmídia. In 2009/2010, the highlight was the change from version 3.3.8 to 4.2.1 and adherence PARFOR courses. Some considerations were taken as aspects of this experience with TelEduc: well acceptance as a technological environment to face teaching; proved to be a user-friendly environment and robust; have interactive learning tools that provide students with a learning enjoyable; The Chat tools can be improved as the insertion of audio features; TelEduc source code should be rewritten to replace deprecatede tags. However, our greatest challenge remains to overcome the difficulties inherent in living and working in a region like the Amazon, apart from almost everything, but at the same time, great in its possibilities, and adoption of tools of distance education is strategic to the region's sustainable development.
