The purpose of the present study is to investigate (a) the factors which hinder teachers to motivate their students to learn according to administrators and pedagogical coordinators from both public and private basic education institutions; (b) teachers’ characteristics which promote and inhibit students´ motivation to learn according to administrators and pedagogical coordinators; (c) possible differences between administrators and pedagogical coordinators from public and private schools in major variables surveyed. Results are promising and present important psychoeducational implications.
