Abstract

Rural work environment, due to its working process, is a promoter of health harms. Thus, this study was carried out aiming at promoting environmental education, regarding self-care of adolescents who work in rural areas. It is a research-action, developed with eighth graders from a Public School in a rural area of the Municipality of Seara, SC. The results showed that adolescents perceived that there are different environmental risks in rural work, highlighting the presence of serious lesions to small injuries or health harms. As a final consideration, the importance of environmental education is highlighted, through the research-action, in order to widen the labor self-care of adolescents who live in rural areas.
