Abstract

CARDOSO, Cibele da Costa; MARINHO, Julio Cesar Bresolin  and  TRIGO, Cariane Campos. Perception of students visiting a project about the biology and conservation of sea turtles. ETD [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.3, pp.440-457. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.0000/016v03n6p440.

This study was aimed at analyzing the perception about the turtles of students who visited the bases of TAMAR in the cities of Florianópolis and Ubatuba. The methodology was based on questionnaires with open and closed questions, before and after the visitation of students of the 3rd and 4th grade of elementary school, at the two bases. One hundred and twenty questionnaires were returned. As a result, the environmental education program at the TAMAR Project Visitors Centers was found to be efficient, since most of the students could answer the questions after the visits. However, some topics could have been more emphasized. Students who had greater perception prior to the visit were the ones at Ubatuba, because the project exists for more than 20 years in this city, which allowed students to have greater familiarity with issues related to the theme, and because they visited the project more than once.
