These writings aim to present an account - and are intended as a report - about an experimentation produced in a postgraduate formative space, a doctorate in Education. Some short stories by Mozambican writer Mia Couto were used as triggers so that, through their readings, writings and thoughts on teaching could be produced. The encounter with some authors about difference's thought, such as Deleuze, Larrosa and Levy, and with the colleagues' production, makes us think the place of research, in relation to what can be discussed as researching, not so much by limiting it to protocols but as a space of experimentation and a way of thinking our places of teaching, of creating other relations with language and life. To essay ourselves, to essay teaching and research as experience for establishing another relation with the self and the world.
