In this text, our goal is to ponder over certain points of contact between literature and cinema - or, more precisely, how a way of being of literature can condition a way of being of cinema. In this regard, we point to the possibilities that the literary (sub)genre “bildungsroman” (novel of formation) implies in terms of methodological possibilities of research for the field of cinema and education. Thus, it is of our interest showing how, when electing as central a subject that is (trans) formed through a unique narrative of images, in which form and content are inseparable, some materials suggest elements for the composition of a category that we call “bildungscinema” (films of formation) - and that opens possibilities for analyses focused on a concept that is central to the field of education, that is, the concept of formation.
