Abstract

GUSMAO, Milene de Cássia Silveira; SANTOS, Raquel Costa  and  DUARTE, Rosalia Maria. Women in education projects through/for cinema. ETD [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.2, pp.456-481. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.20396/etd.v19i2.8647550.

This article describes the insertion and trajectory of five women pioneers in actions of education for the cinema, from years 1950, in Brazil and in Latin America. Analytically, it is a question of how women have taken up places of mediation in the experiences of formation for the cinema since the actions related to cinematographic knowledge have been and still are marked by the majority male presence. For this, we use the conceptual models of Norbert Elias and Pierre Bourdieu, who consider human relational networks in the flow of time, observing the interdependencies and also the interactions between social structures, practices and collective and individual trajectories in the space of possibilities. It is argued yet that the action of these women offered the bases on which was built a tradition of strong female performance in the context of relations between cinema and education.
