Abstract

GRAUPE, Mareli Eliane; LOCKS, Geraldo Augusto  and  PEREIRA, Josilaine Antunes. Gender and sexuality in education: provoking dislocation and unrest. ETD [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.3, pp.805-821. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.20396/etd.v20i3.8647072.

This text reflects on training of academic, undergraduate and graduate teachers about the interface with gender and sexuality. The theoretical framework includes authors on gender, sexuality, race relations and public policies guiding towards an equitable education. A course for teachers was organized in four modules and conducted through workshops. It was observed that the training had not considered relevant issues generating displacement and unrest in the teaching practice. Gaps were identified on these issues in educational projects, curricula, teaching plans and degree courses. Construction of an education for equitable gender relations requires the inclusion of these themes in the documents and teaching practices.

Keywords : Education; Gender; Sexuality; Public policy.
