Abstract

PACHALSKI, Lissa  and  NORNBERG, Marta. THEORY AND PRACTICE ON TEACHING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: (IN)SEPARABLE DIMENSIONS?. ETD - Educ. Temat. Digit. [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.4, pp.994-1012.  Epub Apr 29, 2021. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.20396/etd.v21i4.8653271.

This article problematizes the discourse which disengages the relationship between theory and practice in the teaching profession. It analyzes an internship record diary in the elementary school from the concepts of content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge of the content, indicators of the argumentation. It argues about the possible and necessary dissolution of the division and consequent ranking between theory and practice in the exercise of the teaching profession. It sustains theory and practice as related and inseparable dimensions of teaching and pedagogical action.

Keywords : Knowledge base for teaching; Pedagogical knowledge of content; Theory and practice; Teaching in elementary school; Internship.
