MAUES, Olgaíses Cabral  y  ANDRADE, Antonia Costa. THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF GRADUATE PROGRAMS IN EDUCATION IN THE NORTHERN REGION FROM BRAZIL: POLICIES, STRATEGIES AND ACTIONS. ETD - Educ. Temat. Digit. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.3, pp.651-671.  Epub 27-Jun-2021. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.20396/etd.v22i3.8659327.

The internationalization of higher education has been fundamental to the logic of traps and illusions of the knowledge society, as a factor that indicates the insertion of the countries in economic globalization, even as this level of education is seen by some international organizations as a lever for economic growth. These two concepts are affecting higher education, in the process of internationalization, so that it becomes a significant agent of knowledge production, as a productive force for the expansiveness of the capital. The international dimension of higher education became a priority for both national governments, as well as for international organizations, leading universities to organize themselves in order to meet this demand. In this logic, the funding agencies choose internationalization as an indicator of quality, which is present in universities, with emphasis on graduate programs. In this perspective, this article aims to present the analysis of the internationalization process at Graduate Programs in Education in the Northern Region from Brazil, highlighting strategies, mechanisms adopted and the results obtained. The methodology adopted was the analysis of content (BARDIN, 2011), considering the Institutional Development Plans of universities in the Northern Region from Brazil, data from Sucupira platform of the 2013-2016 quadrennium and the period between 2017-2018. The first results indicate that all programs develop several activities of internationalization and there are disparities in policies between institutions, as well as lack of resources, and a lack of qualitative assessment of the results provided by these activities.
