The increasingly innovative technological resources drive society to constant progress and pressure the construction of a new paradigm in the educational field. This article aims to bring up a reflection on the technological trends for the teaching and learning processes, as well as the trends and challenges that technological integration represents in Brazilian public basic education. Through a bibliographical research and documentary analysis contextualizes the importance of informatics in education. The results show that, although technological resources stimulate self-learning, critical posture, student insertion in the market, and agility in the teaching work, there is still a gap in performing activities involving computational thinking due to the challenges encountered.
