COSTICHE, Samuel Willian Schwertner; WICHNOSKI, Paulo  and  BERTICELLI, Danilene Gullich Donin. REASONS FOR CHOOSING A PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION IN A LICENSING COURSE IN EXACT SCIENCES. ETD - Educ. Temat. Digit. [online]. 2022, vol.24, n.2, pp.432-450. ISSN 1676-2592.  https://doi.org/10.20396/etd.v24i2.8660121.

In this article we aim to know the motivations that influenced and/or determined the choice of the professional qualification in the Degree in Exact Sciences at a Public University of Paraná. From the qualitative research perspective, we proceeded to the construction, categorization and interpretation of the data under the assumptions of the phenomenological method. The interpretation made allows us to infer that the choice of professional qualification is motivated by individual, institutional and social factors, and supported mainly in aspects related to the academic past of the research participants. The figure of the teacher and his respective pedagogical practice proved to influence this choice, being able to reinforce question or modify the participant’s pre-dispositions.

Keywords : Qualitative research; Phenomenology; Teacher formation; Exact sciences.
