Abstract

HAGE, Salomão Mufarrej  and  PEREIRA, Ricardo Augusto Gomes. Participation and autonomy in management as reference to reinvent freire’s theory in public education. e-Curriculum [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.127-148. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2016v14i1p127-148.

The article examines the democratic management processes and their organizational strategies and mobilization to build a popular project of public education in Cametá, city in the state of Pará. The analysis was developed through bibliographic and documentary survey and field research, through interviews with municipal managers. The results found fall within the scope of the research "Paulo Freire today: legacy and reinvention", developed by a national network of researchers, and coordinated by the Paulo Freire Cathedra of PUC-SP. It shows that the municipal schools, when opting for a critical and emancipatory education, apply the principles of participation and autonomy in public management processes, contributing to the reinvention of Paulo Freire theory today.
