Abstract

SANTIAGO, Eliete  and  BATISTA NETO, José. A research on education based on Paulo Freire and the contributions of his educational approach to teacher development and educational practice. e-Curriculum [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.149-164. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2016v14i1p149-164.

In this paper, we aim to show that Freire´s educational approaches have contributed to expand research on Education on the issues of investigation, analytical categories and methodological processes with implications on teacher development and pedagogical practice, as we have observed in academic production. This theoretical, epistemological and methodological presence of Freire, on the one hand, shows the vigour of Freire´s thoughts and that they remain valid at all times. On the other hand, it prompts us to analyse the features and evidence of Freire´s contribution to the research on education; teacher development and educational practice. We propose to analyse the presence of Freire on dissertations and teases in the Education field, focusing on the following categories: humanization, dialogue, autonomy, lovingness and critical thinking.

Keywords : Paulo Freire; Humanization; Dialogue; Autonomy; Educational Research.
