Abstract

SANTOS, Jean Mac Cole Tavares  and  SILVA, Francisca Natália. Educational policies and curriculum: translation and reinterpretation in the school context. e-Curriculum [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.2, pp.653-675. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2016v14i2p0653.

This paper discusses the translation of the Program Ensino Médio Inovador (ProEMI) in a state school in the city of Natal, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. We analyze the ProEMI policy, pointing out the policy of translation processes in school, starting from the speeches of teachers who work in the program. We use as reference the policy cycle Stephen Ball (1992) and colleagues, as well as some Brazilian partners, as Mainardes (2006) and Lopes (2005, 2006 and 2012), which help to understand the construction of the policy from the contexts of influence, text production and practice. To discuss the concept of translation we rely on Lendvai and Stubbs (2012). We used as a methodology to analyze the speeches of five (5) teachers, obtained through semi-structured interviews, and analysis of the guiding documents ProEMI. The study argued that the process of signification of the proposal by the institution involved influences and negotiations of senses, reflecting the actions as the conflicts and practical context of struggles.
