Abstract

EVANGELISTA, Gislene Rangel  and  SALES, Shirlei Rezende. Contemporary inadequacies: a bibliographical survey on curriculum and digital technologies. e-Curriculum [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.3, pp.1107-1129. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2016v14i3p1107.

This article presents the results of an investigation which raised and analyzed the issue of how academic researches have approached the relationship between school curriculum and digital technologies. In order to achieve that, five academic journals were investigated. They have been classified by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (also known as CAPES) as QUALIS A1 and A2 over a period of 10 years. To analyze the information produced, it was necessary to make use of contributions from authors who study the digital technologies in line with education, such as: Paraíso (2010), Arruda (2011), and Sibilia (2012). Based on the analysis, the argument developed was: although the intense relationship between people and digital technologies is constituted as an expression of contemporary times, there is a mismatch, a sort of inadequacy, in the relationship between the school curriculum and digital technologies. The aforementioned inadequacy became clear in the analysis of the centralities of the articles investigated. Therefore, it was observed that, in general, the curriculum works with logics that bear little resemblance to digital technologies.

Keywords : School Curriculum; Digital Technologies; Bibliographical Survey; Inadequacy; Contemporaneity.
