This article aims to reflect on continuing education as a research proposal and responsible innovations in quilombola community. This is the result of a research carried out in Quilombo do Mel da Pedreira in Macapá-AP. The study adopted the bibliographical research, the documentary analysis, the semi-structured interview and a collaborative action through Pedagogical Workshop as a form of investigation. The results point to possibilities for enriching the curriculum and school practice through continuing education for the education of ethnic-racial relations, especially for quilombola school education. The research reveals that the implementation of most educational policies for the realization of education for ethnic-racial relations has been only on paper, that is, in official discourse and documents, since in practice this has not actually taken place and right. The study also reveals that although public policies for quilombola education are moving very slowly in the region, since they are usually punctual and fragmented actions, without articulation with the local reality, often presenting in a generic and superficial way, there are positive initiatives after the Pedagogical Workshop. Given this context, we believe that continuing education is one of the possibilities for responsible education innovations to contribute to the quality of quilombola education in Amapá.
