Abstract

This study aims to identify the contributions of a distance extension course about , school councils and democratic management for the professional performance of their graduates. The characteristics of the proposed formation process, which includes research and data collection to elaborate a plan of action, as well as the involvement of different institutions and social actors, allows us to establish approximations with the approach Responsible Research and Innovation. The research was carried out through a field survey with a quantitative and qualitative approach, through the application of a questionnaire, which resulted in the analysis of the responses of 1113 participants. The results evidenced that the contributions of the course were many, mainly in the acquisition and / or amplification of theoretical and practical knowledge, followed by the sensitization and motivation on the importance of the School Councils and the democratic management of education. Thus, it was concluded that the valorization of professional performance in the formation process, through the collection of information and planning of actions, had repercussions on the social context, valuing actions that favor democratic management to improve the quality of education.
