Abstract

PIRES, Joelma Lucia Vieira. THE CURRICULUM BY COMPETENCIES AND TEACHER’S WORK. e-Curriculum [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.3, pp.566-593. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2018v16i3p566-593.

Study on the implementation of the curriculum by competencies in a São Paulo’s state school, which maintains a partnership with a private company, considering the changes in the teacher’s work. The qualitative research has foundations on the study of a case, which emphasized the analysis of the teacher’s interviews. Their work is modified once the education is organized through the projects that are imposed by the State Department of Education seeking the adequacy of the subject’s contents to the treatment of emerging social problems. The teacher’s autonomy is struck regarding the development of the subject’s content and in the elaboration process of knowledge with the students. The knowledge remains fragmented and picked in a utilitarian manner according to the technical rationality logic and market context productivity. The teacher’s work is restructured for this logic reaffirmation, emphasizing the private sector principles and public space is weakening. Their act loses the political and individual expression.
