Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Iris Verena. "IS THAT LIPSTICK TO COME TO SCHOOL?" AESTHETIC-METHODOLOGICAL DISPUTES IN CURRICULUM YARDS. e-Curriculum [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.4, pp.1523-1544.  Epub Jan 27, 2020. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2019v17i4p1523-1544.

The article links political disputes in the field of curriculum with the aesthetic confrontations of black digital influencers on YouTube, while questioning the understanding of curriculum as knowledge (MACEDO, 2017a). Therefore, I use the school courtyards as a space in which the difference leaks, allowing the formulation of propositions that escape the “methodological enclosure” (ST PIERRE, 2017) insisting on the coherence between the poststructuralist theory and forms. do research, which erase the “realistic novel” (ST PIERRE, 2010). I point out the framing of the other in identity politics, as something to be avoided, because of the risk of sublimation of difference (DERRIDA, 1991). Thus, the curriculum debate on the teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture is read from normative instruments that guide the anti-racist struggle in the school environment and also in the videos produced by youtuber Gabi Oliveira, published on DePretas channel, seen as another way of discursively producing the concept of race (BUTLER, 2004). The text indicates the school courtyards and youtubers publications as gaps to question what counts as anti-racist politics in curricular and aesthetic disputes. From the difference, understood as alterity that escapes it, the article aims to highlight the meanings of school, inscribed in bodies that boast black powers hair and outrageous lipsticks, which dialogue with the content produced on YouTube, indicating the permeability of school walls.
