Studies on history of vocational and technological education needs to consider spaces of conflicts and contradictions around different conceptions and guidelines regarding on education and work, as well as the dimensions established between these dimensions. In this sense, based on bibliographical research, this article not only presents the history of vocational and technological education concerning some movements questioning the political-ideological matrix, but indicates the relevance of the studies that recover, through the narratives of the subjects, contradictions and impasses that are opposed to hegemonic educational models. This study expects to contribute to a history of vocational and technological education from a conception of history that goes beyond a mere description and listing of hegemonic actions that could be found in the elaboration and implementation of educational policies.
