Abstract

This paper is a cutoff of the Master’s dissertation of the main author of this research, a study with a new approach, focusing on evaluative research considering the quadripolar methodology proposed by Bruyne et al. (1977). This study deals with the Municipal Education Assessment System in Jijoca de Jericoacoara, Ceará, Brazil, and its effects on the learning of students of the 2nd grade of the initial years of Elementary School. This primarily qualitative research appropriated quantitative and qualitative methodological resources, among them the quadripolar methodology. The analysis of quantitative data was conducted through the statistical program IBM SPSS Statistics 20 and the analysis of qualitative data through the program Atlas.ti 7. The main results showed that this systematics contributes to the equity between schools and the teaching practice guidance. However, educators from that city recognized the need of review aspects such as the method of disseminating the results and the level of questions of the assessments in order to make it more meaningful in terms of their contributions to the teaching-learning process of children.
