RIBEIRO, Vera Mônica  y  COSTA, Nielce Meneguelo Lobo da. MATH EVALUATION PROCESSES: A STUDY ON EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS. e-Curriculum [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.2, pp.970-993.  Epub 15-Oct-2020. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2020v18i2p970-993.

This paper comes from a Master’s research in Mathematics Education that was developed in a continuing teacher education whose object of study was the Learning Assessment in Process (‘Avaliação da Aprendizagem em Processo’ - AAP), an evaluation process that is applied to students of the São Paulo state schools of Basic Education. The research methodology was qualitative of the strategic action research type, as defined by Guedin and Franco. The research was developed in stages, namely: (1) bibliographic review and documentary analysis; (2) design of the educational process and data collection instruments; (3) field research. In this article the focus is on the presentation of results from the documentary analysis stage, with discussions on educational assessment, on the Brazilian Curricular Guidelines concerning it and on the Learning Assessment in Process. The theoretical contribution on assessment processes came from studies conducted by Haydt, Luckesi, Hoffmann, Libâneo and Buriasco. Brazilian official documents that regulate and guide the evaluative practice of the Basic Education teacher, related to Mathematics and support materials for the application of AAP, were analysed. The results of the documentary analysis provided subsidies for understanding the proposal of this assessment process, how its implementation has occurred and its evolution to this day. Besides, they provided an understanding of the relevance of the assessment process to evaluate the students’ mathematics learning in São Paulo state schools.
