This paper examines the institutionalization of an innovative educational project: the creation and development of FGV Direito SP Law School. The effort to implement and consolidate the new educational model allows one to better understand the challenges implied in creating and sustaining a novel Law school project. The present study adopts a qualitative approach through bibliographical research. The theoretical framework is provided mainly by Angarita, et al (2010), Khun (1998), Ghirardi (2009), Ghirardi; Oliveira (2012), Vieira (2012), Ghirardi; Vieira (2018). Results point to the hurdles to build up a new a course within traditional institutional frameworks and to the need of qualifying the personnel responsible for implementing the new project.
