Abstract

FELDMANN, Marina Graziela  and  CABRAL-LIBORIO, Andréia Regina Silva. QUILOMBOLA EDUCATION: ANALYSIS OF AN EXTENSION PROJECT. e-Curriculum [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.3, pp.1298-1314.  Epub Dec 01, 2020. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2020v18i3p1298-1314.

This article started from the problem: How can non-formal education contribute to the rescue of the history and memory of a community of quilombo remnants? It aims to promote the appreciation of culture and quilombola protagonism. The theoretical basis is based on the contributions of Geertz, Gohn, Moreira and Candau, Andrade, Santos and Freire. The methodology is anchored in the qualitative approach, through the analysis of documents from the extension project carried out in a quilombola community and from local actions. The results show that the quilombola protagonism is important for valuing and reaffirming the feeling of belonging to the quilombola territory and identity. It was found that non-formal education can be an important ally in the struggle for the ethnic-cultural valorization of these people.

Keywords : Non-formal education; Culture; Quilombola protagonism.
