Abstract

SILVA, Dayane dos Santos  and  CAVALARI, Rosa Maria Feiteiro. CURRICULUM GREENING IN HIGHT EDUCATION AND THE SEMI-ARID CONTEXT IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE COURSES. e-Curriculum [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.2, pp.612-633.  Epub Aug 30, 2021. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2021v19i2p612-633.

This study aimed to identify possible indications of the semi-arid context concerning the environment theme in Biological Science courses at a public university in the state of Paraíba. The research is qualitative and analyzes a case study. It was developed based on a “documentary analysis” of the Course Pedagogical Project, programs, as well as interviews with coordinators and lecturers.

From the analysis, it was observed that the environmental theme linked to the semi-arid context can be found in the curricular structure of the courses but focuses on optional subjects. However, we understand that the Curriculum Greening process is not limited to including these issues in the curriculum but must involve questioning epistemological bases that underlie the training of these professionals and their relationship with the context in which they are inserted.

Keywords : Curriculum Greening; Semi-arid region; Biological Sciences courses.
