Descriptive exploratory ex-post-facto study aims to present a didactic model for academic writing and verify, from students reports, whether this model, which is based on a shared process between professors, students end the group, makes academic writing a viable and motivating activity. In addition, we have analyzed the impact on improving learning and success in performance. Authors point that learning or teaching how to do something brings specific challenges and to face it the shift from technical rationality to practical rationality in the conduct of the teaching-learning processes has proved productiveFrom the interaction of 2478 students enrolled in 26 classes in the discipline of scientific methodology at a private university in Rio de Janeiro, we found that the model presented is effective for the construction of academic writing.
