The article deals with the applicability of Afrofuturism in Education with the active methodology CartoDiversidade in Teacher Training classes at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA) campus Belém. It aims to show how CartoDiversidade promotes empowerment in a creative and innovative way in dealing with ethnic-racial diversity through the production of Afrofuturistic teaching materials. It uses the Cartography method according toPassos, Kastrup and Escóssia (2015). CartoDiversidade draws on the principles of the Maker culture and is configured in a powerful active methodology enabling the empowerment of male and female students, making them protagonists of their learning and inserting their voices and narratives into authorial educational products, which can be adapted to any curricular component.
