Abstract

RAMOS, Bruna Sola da Silva. LETTERS TO PAULO FREIRE: DENUNCIATIONS OF OPPRESSION, ANNOUNCEMENTS OF FREEDOM. e-Curriculum [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.3, pp.1174-1197.  Epub Dec 17, 2021. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2021v19i3p1174-1197.

In the present article, the Pedagogy of the Oppressed is read from the epistolographic scene constituted by the universe of Paulo Freire's letter books and woven into an oriented formation research through the reading-writing of pedagogical letters. The collective study was developed with a group of thirty students in training for teaching, at a public university in Minas Gerais, was based on writing response letters to Freire; as an instrument of “listening” of the encounter between their voices. The movements of critical reading of the reality are presented: "denunciations", with the triad DESUMANIZATION-OPRESSION-VIOLENCE; and "announcements", with the triad LOVE-FIGHT-ENCOURAGE. After 50 years of Pedagogy of the Oppressed, the struggles that Paulo Freire announced and lived remain, but it also survives, with the strength of a purposeful and hopeful though, his announcement of freedom and well living. In the unfinished tracing of the letters, the maxim that cannot be silenced: Paulo Freire, present!

Keywords : Paulo Freire; Pedagogical letters; Pedagogy of the Oppressed; Teacher training; Denunciation-Announcement.
