Abstract

CUSTODIO, Elivaldo Serrão. A look at Quilombola School Education proposals in Brazil based on state curriculum references. e-Curriculum [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.4, pp.1722-1747.  Epub Apr 12, 2022. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2021v19i4p1722-1747.

The article aims to analyze state curriculum references for Quilombola School Education (EEQ) of different education systems in the country, comparing them with the National Curriculum Guidelines (DCN). It is a reflective qualitative documentary research. The results show that the curriculum guidelines of some systems meet, in part, the principles of a quality EEQ as suggested by the DCN, however, it has failed to observe part of the foundations established in the DCN of the EEQ when they do not indicate cultural activities, economic, political and social aspects of the quilombola daily life. The analysis of state curriculum plans demonstrates that, in addition to being incipient, they leave much to be desired with regard to the ethnic varieties and diversities of quilombos in Brazil.
