This article is the result of research on the access of black people and quilombolas to school education. The objective here is to reflect on the diversity of the school curriculum based on the demands of black and quilombola students for the inclusion of Afro-Brazilian culture and the trajectories of schooling of black characters and intellectuals in the school curriculum at all levels of education. The methodology used is a bibliography review on black trajectories and interviews with black students and quilombolas. By analyzing the data, it appears that the history, memory and legacies of black authors in Brazil and in the diaspora who write about black history and cultures influence the actions of these students, but these characters were silenced and not recognized in the curricula schools and university courses. The claim is that they are included.
