This article deals with the quilombola school in a community situated on the islands of Abaetetuba, Amazonia, from a theoretical-conceptual discussion of globalization and postcolonial or decolonial theories and a methodology of a case study, from a roundtable discussion that brought together different actors from the educational community. The voices of these actors, as well as the observation of cultural spaces, are a starting point to situate the context of the remaining quilombo communities and their current challenges in the face of a logic of uniformity that has contributed to the loss of identity of these spaces of formation through their knowledge, practices, and traditions.

Keywords : quilombola school; identity; curriculum; globalization; desterritorialization.
