Abstract

CAMARGO, Leila Maria; HAGE, Salomão Antônio Mufarrej; GOMES, Raimunda Kelly Silva  and  FIGUEIREDO, Arthane Menezes. Socio-cultural diversity and curriculum in the Amazons:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.1, pp.238-261.  Epub May 06, 2022. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2022v20i1p238-261.

The article discusses sociocultural diversity in multiple Amazons and its interrelationships with the curriculum and teacher education, in their socio-environmental plurality. It is a qualitative bibliographic research linked to the Center for Studies in Curriculum and Educating Processes for Teachers in the Amazons (Nucfor), and to the National Program for Academic Cooperation in the Amazon (Procad/Amazônia). It discusses the importance of diversity as a right of all peoples and understands the Amazon in its multiple ways of being in the world, in order to resist the standardization of the National Curriculum Common Base (BNCC) and the National Teacher Educating Base (BNC-Formação). We conclude that a dispute is necessary to ensure that diversity and traditional knowledge are recognized as valid knowledge as opposed to the monoculture of knowledge.

Keywords : curriculum; socio-cultural diversity; Amazons; teacher educating.
